Panniers - Marmite?

Stressing that I respect & accept everyone's views, :bow:bow even if they not be my own and accepting all the `constructive flak` over my `panniers from the devils bottom` (said Devils bottom panniers shown below as comparison, they blend in nearly as well as the bag.....) I do have to say "By the hymen of Oilvia Newton John, what were they thinking........"

Naturally anyone who has this `thing` is most likely a top geezer :bow:bow:bow and certainly gets my vote of support on anything he does but I would rather actually use my own panniers, stick pins in my eyes & eat my own spleen than strap this carbuncle to an XR.

But then again perhaps it don`t spoil the lines, blends in and does look part of the bike and if you look quickly you can easily miss the bag....... (that came out wrong :D)

Once again stressing In MY Humble Opinion!

Bought many of your bits for my GS's and the XR but :barf:barf:barf

They're not my cup of tea either, but fair play to Mark for sticking with it!:D

For Terry

Fella, not sure if my email got through and I can`t seem to send a PM...............

Anyhoo here`s my findings on your suggestion of substituting the ally bar end part for steel. Sorry that, IMHO, it won`t make any noticeable difference.

Hiya Terry, I`ve spent some time on this but in my humble opinion I think that the weight increase is going to be negligible in resolving your particular problem.

The problem is keeping within the confines of the end of the bar and despite thickening it slightly it will simply be a `drop in the ocean` - when you consider that my bar ends for instance, are a huge 270g whereas the increase over alloy will be a very small fraction of this and in my opinion won`t have any effect.

Sorry to put the dampeners on it but that's really what I think based on the experience of the comparatively massive weight gain I had to build into my bar ends to reduce the vibration.

The only other way would be to extend the fastener and stick further round weights on the fastener shank but that will look shite (and get me a right slagging on the forum :)

Hi Mark
Thank you for trying it any way, it was just a thought on my part and shows what a genuine guy you are. The vibes on my bike are minimal and thought that a lesser weight would cure it.

All the best Terry
