Isn’t it about time we had series 2 of the “must go faster” thread? Come on, you must be bored by now:)

This months Ride mag has two articles on the GS (one on the 1200 and another on the 1150) One of the writers compared the GS to piloting a WW2 fighter plane.
Think most of us "aces" have enough power to "buzz" the oppostition as it is.
Chocs away ol bean, was a wizzard prang! :mcgun

Well that's true but more power wouldn't hurt would it

Hi Dr Alf, its me again! :D .
I know this may come across as some kind of vomit inducing drivel but...... I like my new 12 just the way it is. It will catch pigeons this thing. Loving it! Set it away really quickly on bumpy roads and its hard to keep the front wheel down in third gear, sometimes fourth and downright impossible in second. It has shown 137 mph on the GPS and returns 55 mpg when touring. Mind you, I seem to be using more tyres than I did on the 1150, ah who cares. What more do I need.
I put it all down to the "ride it like you stole it", running in technique. Picking it up from the dealership, I took the long way home. It had fifty miles on it when I got to my speed test bit of "private road" and it ran straight up to 135. It achieved this about 300 metres sooner than the old 1150 could manage 125. I have remained mega impressed ever since. So I have retired from the, lets bolt one of these things on and see what happens brigade. I am more than happy to pass the mantle on to some other intrepid sole. There has to be one or two of you out there, come on cough up! :D
PS: Riding a 140 mph "bar stool" is pretty exiting :D

picking my new 12 up on Wednesday. I will be testing its metal over bank holiday weekend. Couple of blasts up to Hartside cafe on the middleton road will give me more feel than the test ride. Might have a swift blart over the lakes for good measure.
