When is bearing not a bearing?
When it no longer rotates freely.
Brinnelling prevents the bearing from rotating freely, and while it may feel slightly notchy (brinelling) when not loaded. When you apply the required 7NM preload to the bearing on assembly, you can rest assured it will have a whole lot less rotation.
You will have to make your own judgement call on whether to re-lube and reuse.
Remember, that if the bearing stops rotating, your aluminium pivot pin will become the new bearing surface. So a good indication for you, is the state of the pivot pins when you remove them. If they look worn, then you have a problem which needs attending too.
