Just fitted 'em - seemed to be OK. But just a couple of questions.

1. Is it right, there should be absolutley NO PLAY in the back wheel now, or should there be a teenise bit?

2. Will I have have to nip them up after a short period, while they "bed in" or whatever? If so, after how long?

3. Is there an o ring I've torn while reinserting the ABS sensor, as there's oil coming out the top of the bevel box now.

4. What size is the Stoooopid torx bit to remove the sensor barcket, that I snapped tightening up the braket, because now I need a new one to get the bracket off?

Other than that, the fitting went swimmingly, even the 2 kilos of locktite I had to clean off the threads only added about 45 minutes. :thumb

Cheers

Jesus wept ... if you'd wanted a manual thrown in you should have said ;)

1: Dunno, ask Steptoe - believe it should be tight but hell, mine's a mono :P

2: Worth checking periodically - did you use a torque wrench?

3: Yes - be with you wednesday - eejit.

4: Think it's a 6 but ... well, my proper G/S has a cable :D

Gis a bell tomorrow if you don't get a sensible answer :thumb

pre load to 7Nm for an 1150. i suspect it's similar for the 1100.

1. None.

2. Slightly over tighten the bearing to seat everything correctly, back off, then torque to the specified value.

3. If the oil is seeping out as you ride along this sounds possible.

4. Bracket?? If we're talking 1100 here the ABS sensor just pushes into the bevel box. The retaining screw is [I think] torqued to 8nm - not much greter than hand tight. A T-25 torx driver is needed.

I love you Shar. :D

Thanks for the help all you other nonentities :D

Torx bit T-25. Doesnt sound like the sort of thing Halfords would do.........

Jamie,
I haven't had to 'nip up' mine since we did 'em.

Loctite Removal

The easiest way to clean Loctite off threads - especially delicate or important items such as the parallever pins, is to use either cellulose thinners or nail varnish remover - the choice is yours? - depends which your most likely to have handy!!!!!!

Cheers....................Grizzly

I just happened to have some nail varnish remover laying about.......... :mmmm

I also just so happened to have some ruby red nail varnish laying about, and I used that to mark the bolts :mmmm :mmmm

Merle noticed they were missing, but I think I got away with it by telling her I was a cross dresser. ;)
