I know someone that made an oil change himself: got out .5 L of th old one, then put in 3.5L of new oil, that totals a 6.5L of oil in a boxer .

I managed to put 3.75l of oil in mine after an oil and filter change without any sign in the sight glass.

Then I put the drain plug back and filled it up again

Not cheaper to use a proper flushing oil

In reply to Little RR . I have had 2 GS's with the same symptoms and they were both not gearbox related. My present GS has done 25k without the clutch going AWOL with waaay more oil than this. It is getting sorted only due to the gearbox being fixed. The last one was 35k with the same weeps.

This one had oily mess across the back of the flywheel and was really mucky but still with a fine clutch. From previous dealership experience, if the gearbox seal goes the clutch slips pretty quickly afterwards.
