Having noted my fellow 1200Gsers comments and just received a recall notice I am getting paranoid about mine. Its registered June 2004 anything to worry about?

What is the recall for?
If it's the much talked about user guide supplement about the brakes, it's not a recall. BMW are not proposing to carry out any remedial work on your bike, they are just offering to "test" the brakes, whatever that may entail.

Mine a similar age and I've had a recall as well (the letter came from the dealer). Mine is for a software upgrade to fix a battery discharge probelem that can occur but has not affected me so far. I'm leaving it until I take it in for new wheels (due to paint flaking) and the brake test (offered in the BMW letter with the manual addendum).channiere said:
This forum can make anyone paranoid, I sympathise with all those that have had big problems but mine has been reliable and a pleasure to ride- a great bike (but I'm holding the wooden desk as I type this)
