Having noted my fellow 1200Gsers comments and just received a recall notice I am getting paranoid about mine. Its registered June 2004 anything to worry about?
If it's the much talked about user guide supplement about the brakes, it's not a recall. BMW are not proposing to carry out any remedial work on your bike, they are just offering to "test" the brakes, whatever that may entail.

Mine a similar age and I've had a recall as well (the letter came from the dealer). Mine is for a software upgrade to fix a battery discharge probelem that can occur but has not affected me so far. I'm leaving it until I take it in for new wheels (due to paint flaking) and the brake test (offered in the BMW letter with the manual addendum).
This forum can make anyone paranoid, I sympathise with all those that have had big problems but mine has been reliable and a pleasure to ride- a great bike (but I'm holding the wooden desk as I type this)
