PARIS DAKAR PLAYBOY REPLICA 1979

He's owned it for 10 years, but not used it for the last 8 years.

And spent many happy summers on it :blast

"It's been dry stored since oct 2003 = Many men have remarked and admired the bike when parked in any town."

He has a good memory. :D

"I would imagine that it would be an easy task to put back on the road"

In which case why not put it back on the road and then ask £3000 + for this playboy replica .

"Buyer to assure himself that he knows what he is bidding on as final selling price is final an there are no guarantees attached to the bike and there are returns permitted"

But you don't know what you're bidding on as it doesn't run and hasn't run for years. :clap

That has some very novel suspension geometry. It looks like it would make a better chopper.

So, he's got a dog of a non runner.I suspect something is wrong with it,why it's been stored for so long. Those forks are sooo wrong, a right dogs breakfast.Best avioded unless you want a full resto job.If it was under a grand, it may be worth a punt. but at £ 1500 , nope.........:augie

 If that pile of :censor: sells for 1500+ quid with no mot/not running I'll eat my hat..... and then clean the 2" of dry mud of my "dakar rep" as it must be worth a fortune :toungincheek

Nice project

I'd give him £150.00. What a bag of shite and just cos it's got a red frame a playboy Paris Dakar it's not. Oh well worth a giggle.

He's only ten minutes from me. Does anyone want me to go have a look-see? :augie

Val.

Wee at least that gave me a good laugh tonight.

I think that's the most 'optimistically' described bike I've ever seen.

On the close up pictures of the tank, I was dreading seeing P-D veteran signatures...!

PG :D

If it comes down to £200, im having it !

Yes, its a "Head turner" alright.

Can anyone suggest what one might say when ones head has just been turned,
apart from " What the &^% is that "?

now relisted at £750 but I bet he still dont get to many takers

Well what's wrong with it ?

Had to sell my 07 GS last year because work dried up and after lurking in the airhead section I fancy an older GS which will require a lot of TLC.

There are plenty of photos, video shows it running in 1st and it stops. I think he is doing his best to sell it.

So what do you thinks wrong and what would be 'right' money ?

What do you think is right ?

I think it looks great – its certainly got potential for a good ISDT replica – not too sure on the Dakar claims though. The problem is how much it will cost to convert and fix. If you use someone like Andrew Sexton or Richie Moore I’d imagine you would be looking at a very large sum of money. Alternatively if you are a good mechanic and fancy a project it’s a bargain. Andrew Sexton was on the look out for a used ST or G\S project bike recently – I might give him a heads up – watch this space:)
