Not a bad day..........................

Bike was lumpy at tickover/stalling/surging at lower revs and generally mis-behaving last week. Called PL and got it in within 5 days, not bad considering its Easter hols right now.

They took took me seriously (unlike another dealer I've approached about this) and confirmed that a new software update was available (compared to the version on the bike) and that they would load it.

Got to the dealer on pick-up, mechanic took me through what he'd done, advised me that he'd had to put almost a litre of oil in (naughty me, but it is drinking it right now and I did top it up 8 days ago!), and pointed out that the machine now gleamed as they'd scraped several layers of commuting muck and Scotoiler FS365 off it.

I've owned BWM's for 6 years or so now and this is the best service I've had from a dealer (only put up with one other). I will be returning for the 6k service and I need some new kit so I'll be speaking to them too.

To cap it all, the cabbie who took me back to collect the bike gave me a £5 discount as he's a biker and enjoyed our chat.

I've had worse days!:D
 
Very nice to hear it........not enough people stick up for the dealers when they get it right :thumb
 
You've done a lot better than I have with them then. Last time I took it in to them with lumpy running they returned it to be in a worse state than they received it in.

Twice.

Then denied all responsabiliy.

Put oil in twice, so that 15 miles later it was imitating a destroyer laying down smoke enough to make the world disappear! Then they made me feel as if it was my fault and only hgave a very grudging apology. That was a couple of years ago so they may have got better.
But when I was looking for quick release fuel lines a month ago, they were quoting £65+, but I eventually got them from Coopers Reading for about half that. Strange or symptomatic?
Still. they do have their posh new showrooms to pay for.
 
You got an apology and an admission of the mistake? Wow. I got a 'our QC process would have picked up any problems like you describe so you must be lying' (or words to that effect).
