Folks,

I was chatting to Paul Davies from BMW Park Lane earlier today who has been rectifying my earlier dissatisfactions with the ex-Demo bike that I purchased from them.

Paul has additionally made a lovely gesture to benefit 6 lucky GSers - and you could be one of them!

Paul has been checking the stock holding since taking over as Sales Manager and has found 6 sets of GS (non-Adventure) seats, both front and rear, which he would like to give away. For free!

Paul has 3 sets of black seats and 3 sets of red and all that he has asked is that, should you fancy something nice and plump for your ass (my words, not his!) you must (please) turn up on your GS and introduce yourself. The intention with this approach is to dissuade any disreputable traders from snaffling the lot.

Now I know that what you'd all like additionally is also a Rallye 2 Jacket in Red in a size 58, with matching Savannah Goretex Boots (size 10), but life just aint like that - and I've begged first!!!

To whomever gets the free seats, enjoy them. To those who try and fail, have a coffee and meet the guys. For the Londoners, its worth getting the low down on the plans for the new Central London workshops that are being prepared.

Red Seats

Typical, a dealer offering a great deal with a pair of free red seats and it's not my local one - 600 miles each way is a bit too far to travel at the moment however....

If you do end up with a pair that no-one else wants I'll quite happily pay for the postage and come and visit you next time I'm in London.

Just an idea???

If someone doesn't have a need for one of these generously offered seats but can get down to Park Lane how about getting one as a 'loaner' for all those who seem to send their seats off for re-upholstering. I'd imgine it would just need storing and despatching out when its needed, which I as a lowly R100GS owner would be happy to do for the club members - how about it?

Does anyone know whether Park Lane still have any of these seats left, as I could pick up a set and either pass them to Judge as a 'Club Loaner' set, or maybe we could ask Melvin Hunter whether he would mind keeping hold of them and loaning them to people from here that are getting their seats done ??

I had an PM from Roy at Park Lane (Parklife). Alas all the seats were snapped up so no loaner I'm afraid just six very happy members of this forum who are keeping quiet about their recent inheritance...

My apologies I must've mis-interpreted your Private Message as no seats left as opposed to no seats available for this 'club loan seat' idea of mine. But you've got me totally confused I have to say. Could you perhaps for the benefit of others and myself clarify your position either here or call me on 07017 472582 and I'll relay what the situation is. I'd hat someone to lose out on some seats due to me posting misleading/incorrect information.

Sorry if I was ambiguous, but we have, at time of typing, two BLACK ONLY seat sets left, as the last of the red ones were snapped up this evening.
As for the opening of the new workshop, given that I've had a fair bit of interest in it, this should be, as mentioned, towards October/November time, in the jolly district of Westminster (on the South Bank).

PARK LANE BMW

Went there yesterday and collected a set of black seats. I was very impressed. The staff were all very friendly and the show room well stocked with latest models.
I had never been to this dealership before and feel a bit of a cheapskate as I spent no money. Maybe some folks have had bad experiences in the past, but it looks like the staff in place now want to do business and more importantly are prepared to offer customer service that will make this happen.
I would like to thank Roy very much for the seats, as I was considering buying some and no doubt this would have cost a few quid. I certainly think that in the future I will consider buying from this dealership and servicing too. If all the staff have the same enthusiasm as Roy then I'm sure business will boom.
It is certainly worth a visit.
