Having hid bulbs fitted to my 1150gs i would like to replace the parking light bulb with a led bulb, but doing a long search on here i believe if you fit the wrong bulb it can melt from the heat of the hid bulb.
can anybody direct me to the correct thread or which bulb i need and where to buy it,thanks for any help.
n.t.

A HID bulb runs cooler than a standard one as it's much more efficient at turning electrical energy into light with less energy wasted as heat. Unless you've 100W HIDs.....

I'd just go to the nearest half decent autofactors with the old bulb and ask for an LED replacement.

I suspect a direct plug in LED replacement will cost a small fortune though, compared to a filament bulb. So, why put an LED one in?

agree ... any old led w5w replacement will do the job.

Dont know what the story is with the 1150s, but the largest LED bulb I can fit in the 1200 is a 4 LED bulb. Have tried the 6s, 9s, 12s and 15s ... to no avail.

search ebay for item number 230151293195 for the correct item.

If you dont add in a resistor though, you may get a blown parking light warning as the LED draws next to no current
