So whats it like in Parkstone, Bournemouth ?

To start Parkstone is in Poole not Bournemouth (AFAIK) and is an okay part of town, quite diverse with a sort of good and not so good side split by Ashley Road. There are some decent places to go, to eat, to drink and to see music. The Ashley Cross area can give a decent night out and Mr Kyps is a great little venue specializing in tribute acts and local bands.
Living in Parkstone is definitely living in urban rather than rural surroundings and is real close to Poole town centre and not far from Bournemouth Town centre.

As Far As I Know (AFAIK). Pays not to be definite about places in Dorset, boundaries change and acceptance is often much slower than the map.
Why ask about Parkstone anyway, thinking of moving?

We have been discussing the idea, but wont be for a yr at least due to the mortgage we are tied in with atm. My good friend here is moving there as her husband comes from there and already lives there as its where his business is based. The Island is simply god's waiting room, my son has left and a good chance my daughter will as she wants to do Uni....so she says atm but that could all change. And to top it all the amount we pay thoughout the yr on blasted ferry fares makes me

Parkstone's not bad, i can think of worse areas of Poole.
I've lived her for 2 years now and it's like any where you get the odd twat passing through.
Parkstone has a few nice places to eat, local useful shop (but Poole town centre is only 10 mins away) It's on all the main bus routes if needed.

Yes everything helps thank you all. Got 12mths now to just sit and carry on, cant do a thing til then. Am hoping Nick can stay with who he works for now and simply do a transfer if any jobs going there then & I will have to get another job asap as soon as we moved, life is such an upheaval all the time isnt it, ah well.
