Hi
Excuse my knowledge of all things computers. I have recently moved into the world of GPS (what a revelation) and would like some advice on purchasing a tablet.

What I would like to do (whilst on the road) is to plot a route on said device then transfer it onto my GPS. Then in the evening look at photos and videos I have taken during the day.
A good choice of apps for city maps, languages etc.
Internet research obviously, but I don't play games would rarely watch a movie.

At home we have an Apple Mac and my wife has a microsoft lap top she uses for work.

I know a laptop would do what I want but was wondering if there was a small, light tablet that would fit my requirements.

Grateful for any advice.

i am not 100% certain on this, others will correct if its wrong, but the Surface Pro tablet may do the job, a small netbook is what i use and works perfectly, it measures 10 by 7 by 1 in inches so not to big. like i said i may be wrong.

Yes any netbook running full windows will do what you want, I use a HP Netbook (11inches X 9 inches X 3/4"), with Mapsource and Basecamp installed.
