Passed the IAM Test

I was an IAM observer and my last associate was one of the first to gain a "First" but there where several of us within the East Yorks group that had become disillusioned with the IAM and formed our own club.

Advanced Riding for bikers or ARB. We can be found at www.themotorbikeclub.co.uk/

We are now in our 4th year and have around 60 members, our principles are still based on "Roadcraft"and we believe we offer a very high level of further development at your own pace.

Whilst all members are expected to undergo at least 10 hours of further riding development they are not forced to pass a test to remain members of the club, although if they wish they can take a test.

We are a registered charity and all funds go directly or indirectly back to the members and their training.

Have a look on the IAM website and their financial statements, you might be surprised at how much a charity is paying some of it's senior officers, six figures is not unusual and nothing is given back to the local clubs, plus you can't be a member without passing a test and you also have to be a national member to be a local member. Doesn't seem very charitable to me !

If you're in the East Yorks area come and have a look at us. We meet every 2nd Monday of the month at the Goodfellowship inn on Cottingham Road in Hull.

I've been an IAM Examiner for over twenty years and can only endorse, and fully recommend ARB :thumb

Good one Steve ...

Many thanks for that Micky, there are many in the club who are working very hard to not only achieve a very high standard in rider development, but to make it a club that anyone with an interest in bikes would want to be a part off.

That looks like an excellent antidote to the IAM (disillusioned ex-observer ).
