That's interesting, before i took my test i enquired about restricting an 800 (Stroud Dealer) they stated it couldn't be done on the 800 but could on the 650! They got that wrong, glad i got my new 650 from Bristol now. Didnt have any bearing really as i passed on a 500 and couldnt fit on the 800gs cus im a short arse

800?

Cant understand why they said this when one is just a de-tuned version of the other....as far as I'm aware the restricter on a fuel injected model of bike is in the exhaust side of things and on the carbs on non injector!!!

Why don't dealers say that they are not sure and try and find out for the customer rather than saying it can't be done...to be fair I haven't had this problem with my dealer but have come across this on the site a few times from different dealers.

Best way I can describe him was, Brian Cowen esque, except taller. Glasses I think. Not the beemer. Renault of some sort. Manage to lose him 4 times!

Picking up the pink piece of paper tomorrow then off to Monaghan via the back roads to see the folks. Only home for a week but hope to get a few miles on the bike while I'm here.
