Passenger weight ?

Need to give a mate a 50 mile lift on the back of the GS next weekend and as he's shall we say a little on the lardy side I was wondering on the weight limit for passengers

We won't be taking any luggage but how many turns of the big black knob do you think I will need with an extra 19 stone on the back. Should I also up the PSI in the rear tyre

I would max both the preload and PSI. Changing tyre pressures depending on load is pretty important

with my GF on back + luggage, def max Preload (dont forget the rebound adjuster!) then max PSI rear tyre, up the front psi too,,,

Thats what the owners manual is for. HTH I think there is a weight limit for the bike which is probably in the manual but I think most people ignore it looking at the way bikes are loaded

Nice.......The Gross Vehicle Weight will be in your owners manual. If you know fatties weight add it to your own, add to the wet weight and any aftermarket extras fitted if the GVW is exceded the bike is overloaded.

Or

Load up go to the nearest weigh bridge, again if the weight shown on the scales is higher than the GVW the bike is overloaded.

Do what you like with the suspension, too soft? Stiffen it up.
