PC virus has managed to get through ESET... any advice

Well, I was away all day yesterday picking up another bike so today I called ESET and within 10 mins my pc was cleaned and I also saw he removed over 2GB of spam jpegs which had been left on there by this bug...

Thanks everyone for all the help:beerjug:

For info he said ESET NOD32 is anti virus and doesnt tackle Malware so suggested Running Malwarebyte on a regular basis similar to NOD32:thumb2

Either install Spybot to run in parallel with NOD32 or get one of the new fangled products that takes care of AV & malware. I believe the free version of AVG does this now or I have been using Microsoft's Security Essentials since I purchesd my netbook last month. It's free http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/default.aspx

I have found ....

both SuperAntiSpyware and Malware Bytes AMW both avaiable from www.filehippo.com can tackle the tuff nasties.

If you're a whizz kid "hi-jack this" is excellent at locating the problem.

I run SASW (free) in the background and have not had an infected computer since doing so. My kids go to some ropey sites!!

Filehippo is an excellent site and there are certainly plenty of options to choose from http://www.filehippo.com/software/antimalware/
