Personally, I can't really see the need as I don't seem to suffer from poor fueling, but I was wondering if if anyone had fitted the newer PC5 to their GS, and if so what benefits, if any were noticed.

Smoothes out the engine, fills in the hole at 4500 rpm and gives a bit more torque low down. It isn't earth shattering improvement but it is in my opinion worth it.
Or a AF-XIED?

I fitted one to mine, it works a treat, smooths out the lean parts of the rev range. I like the fact that as/when I change things like exhaust/air filter I can simply plug the laptop in and upload the new map for the new set up. Also has a map for the standard set up of course. Also removed the Lamba sensors and installed blanking plugs in their place as these are no longer needed with the PCv installed.
Plug and play as well so easy to remove when/if you trade in for a new bike.

What effect does it have on insurance. Has the performance been compared to Hilltop?

I didn't particularly notice an increase in my insurance but then the cost is reducing every year for me.
If your close enough to use hilltop then use them. There are far more tuners nationwide who can tune a PC5 though plus you have the option to tinker with it yourself if you have the interest and ability.

That's why I'd always go for a Power Commander.I like the way you can alter it to suit your needs
