Has anyone fitted a pdm60 to an LC GSA. If so where did you use the positap? i.e.which wire did you tap into for the ignition trigger.
Any pics would be marvellous :thumb

Contact roadcraftrider of this parish he may still have photos of a good switched live we used on mine although it was not for a PDM it should do the job nicely

I used a piggy back fuse that l got from halfords. My trigger is from the 7.5amp fuse at the fusebox by the engine ecu under the drivers seat.

Any switched live will do.

The rear light, the auxiliary power socket, the sidelight.....

Thanx for your input lads, but how does one determine which of the many wires there is,.. is a switched live? electrically I can just about change bulbs and wire a plug :D

Multimeter or test light will do

Test light is what I use, easy peasy; just put the clamp on a good ground (or the black negative terminal on the battery) and stick the pointy end on the live wire (usually in a socket/plug is best) and if the bulb lights up when you turn the ignition on then you've found a trigger wire.

NB: To find a good ground put the clamp on the positive red terminal of the battery and put the pointy end on a frame bolt, if it lights up it's a good ground.

Thanx:beerjug: Now that's the kind of answer an 'electrophobe' needs :D

One (basic) question - where did you fit it?

I've just got a new GSA and have discovered that EVERYTHING is in a different place compared with pre-LC.

Thought I'd fit it under the seat - no chance, that's where the ECU and fuses now sit. Could be fitted atop the fuses (as per an Adv Rider post) but I'm using the low seat position so that's ruled out.

Haven't removed the tank to look for space yet, that's next, but any advice would be welcome......

Havn't fitted it yet but there looks to be plenty room under the passenger seat. Or alternatively connect 'on show' to a part of the frame on the side of the bike.

Mine sits under the front seat with a bit of double sided tape on top of the ECU thingy, and just in front of it is a plug you can take your trigger lead from this with your positap thing
I leave my seat in the high position and it fits there no problem might be able to get a photo on sunday if you want

Yes please :beerjug:

Here's a pick of mine with autocom and Bluetooth unit and pdm 60.

The seat will fit in both low and high settings.

Are you getting any electronic interference with your SPA in that position? It made a hell of a racket on my bike (new GSA) When I put it there.
I have never used a PDM when fitting Autocom to 10+ different BMWs over the years, perhaps that's what I need?
I take my power supply from the same place as you, with negative to the battery terminal. It seemed like the best place to me too, but I experienced such a racket that I put it in the tail section. It's a squeeze with the alarm there and far from ideal.
Any suggestions (within reason) gratefully received!
Cheers

I've only ever fitted with the pdm 60. I've got no interference whatsoever :-)

My April 14 plate gsa l put the spa under the pillion seat without any problems, but my new red one there is no room for anything under the pillion seat due to the alarm, tpms pick-up and cornering sensor, so stuck it on the ecu.

The pdm 60 powers the spa. I only take the trigger from that fuse to switch on the pdm 60 and the pdm 60 has the main feed and earth direct from the battery.
