February meet
‘Saturday 28th February, meet up at the cafe at Calver Crossroads, calver in the Outside Shop at 1100, then have a jaunt round the the hope valley area, a run up past Ladybower ..(the road up the Valley is open on Saturday!) and lunch at the Strines Inn! There are a few nice tracks in the area for those so inclined.’
The grid reference for all you GPS types and OS Map readers is SK239748 - the junction of A623 and B6001.
The suggestion for lunch is the Strines Inn SK 223907 - its on an incredible small road that runs north from the A57 between Ladybower and Sheffield. Really nice country pub, good beer and food. If you can give me an idea of numbers I will book us some space for around 2ish…
Route wise – a good run round the back lanes of the Peak – we can take in a couple of very easy GS able byways – nothing too challenging if you would like. Swing round through Castleton, Winnets, Edale, up the Upper Derwent and then to the pub… lots of options from there.
Should be a good day out – good roads, scenery and a nice pub. Good for brownie points if you bring SWBOs!
Usual offer holds…if anyone wants to stop over to make a weekend of it there is space at my place in Eyam and a night in the Stags.
See you all next weekend
Gavin
