Pellicase and Autocom on a 16 build LC TE

I am using the Tribe radio without any issues and clarity is really good as my customers when training always say the reception received from the tribe is better than the kenwood

Thanks Adrian

Can I ask how you have the system set up, when trying to get my Bluetooth system set up I had it like this.

Cardio Headset connected to sat nav ch1, iPhone paired to sat nav also, tribe paired to headset ch2.

Many thanks

Griff

Hi Griff - very interested in how you manage to do that as I would like to overlay commentary on my demo rides.
I am using an autocom logic set up hard wired Kenwood for PMR comes to student radio and a older model Drift HD cam.
Thanks

You need to buy one of Andys Gizmos ! (Roadcraft rider)

Shameless plug for the lad ! He makes them to order and they do work very well Quite a few Instructors are now using them as are quite a few recreational video buffs.

Hi fella

Its true, been making a device for about 2 1/2 years now that take's all sound from Autocom bike to bike chatter and anything else you can hear and converts it into a mic level input for cameras, developed it with the help of Advanced biker, if you look on Youtube for Advancedbiker and me Roadcraftrider you will find plenty of clips from trainers and tutors that are using my Gizmo2 to do exactly what your after. Or if your on facebook look up Griffsgizmos and have a root through the page.

Introduced it on here in the vendors section a couple of years back and it didn't raise any interest at all. Sold about 70 worldwide now and no complaints.

Sorry didn't intend to turn this into a sales pitch.

All the best

Griff

Looks a neat solution, what size hole did you have drill to get all the cables/ plugs through?

20mm stuffing gland, tight squeeze but threaded through the pc board end of the leads then plugged them back in to the SPA board

Interesting reading! I had the same problem with my 2018 GSA but came up with an entirely different solution. The Tyre Pressure Sensor box - now occupying the space that the Autocom used to use - is connected by a cable on the LHS of the bike. So, i removed the rear rack, swung the TPS around so it could refitted under the rear rack - there is no need to ever want to get at it - and then refitted the Autocom where it had always been. Dead simple!

On the 16 bike that was the lean sensitive ABS unit? Has it changed on the 18 GSA?

The TPS unit used to be where th clean sensitive ABS unit is now fitted. When the new ABS unit took its position, BMW moved the TPS unit back to where most folk fitted their Autocom - hence the initial issue. For obvious reasons you cant move the ABS unit and sticking th eAutocom under the rack works until you want to change something - swing the TPS unit around was a good solution and cost nothing other than a bit of time and a piece of velcro.

Cheers, I may have to squeeze an aerial lead and radio power cable through as well.

Just measured it & I wont get an Autocom & my Interide in there. Will have to look at other options.

And if you have the BMW alarm fitted you can kiss goodbye to all the space in the void under the rack.

I undid the 2 screws securing the TPS monitor. Brought it forward and laid to one side of the leany ABS gadget. The SPA then slid into the TPS unit place but pulled as far forward as possible. Bluetooth unit slid on its side to the side of the SPA unit. Everything wrapped in bubblewrap to try and give some protection. its not good but its the best you can do.
