Maybe they like the design and look but don’t want to pay the premium.
I have a Rolex bought from the AD I wear it a handful of times a year but knowing I won’t lose money on it or if I do it won’t be much . Money in the bank and a nice watch when I want to wear it.
If it was a replica I would probably wear it do death then when it breaks buy another so I can see both sides of the fence .

reminds me of my mate Jasper who was an apprentice printer years ago and went from a Chevette to a brand new Lada Riva. I remember checking it out and him arguing the seat cloth was genuine leather with imitation stitching - he probably still believes that!
