As my bike is stored for 3+ months in the garage whilst away at work overseas, I want to try to put an additive in the tank to prevent the fuel doing what it would do left alone.
I've tried a few motoshop places but, all I see are cleaners for injectors or fuel octane boosters.

Anybody got suggestions and where to buy?

Thanks

Never found it a problem with Unleaded 95

Honda Mower + Hayter Ride-On Mower put away in Oct, every year..................started April and went first turn of the key - carbs fine

2 1150 GSA's, put away in Oct every year, started April this year and fired up first press of the button - Fi fuelled perfectly

TBH..............I think it's a bit of an Urban Myth

3 months.......................should cause you no problems

Motrex use to do a fuel stabiliser in a small bottle that was really good.I,ve not seen any for ages, may have to have a look on their website.I originally used it to stop carb icing during the winter, now I,am bit of a pussie,I don,t often use the bike in winter.

I got my stuff in a lawn mower shop brigs and Stratton and I find it works. Some carbs are more prone to fuel going off than others. Most will start but when you open the throttle they die. What I do is leave them running for about 20 minutes and they clear themselves

I use a Honda badged fuel stabiliser bought from an agricultural merchant I imagine a good mower place will have it or the Briggs version called 'Fuel Fit' :thumb2

Putoline fuel stabiliser, used it in the NS400 triple 2 stroke for years over the winter. stops the carbs gumming up and makes it easier to get going again after the long layoff.

Works for me but bike spends 6 months off the road in dry storage in cold rainy North Yorkshire

Thanks all for the tips and advice.
If I find some before leaving next week, I'll buy a bottle, if not; wait till Aug and start her up anyway. Not going anywhere as still not registered since bringing her back 3years ago. Just like the bike.

i saw some 'synthetic' petrol at the Newark show…. suposedly none daamging to fibreglass tanks and non gumming ..

aimed at the classic market where they only start them once in a blue moon……. can't remember what it was called though.

i did note that they sold it through various farm/ agricultural type outlets , supposedly a 'green' fuel as well - handy for the tree fellers.
