PETROL PRICE FIGHT BACK

i have just paid £2.53 for 6 lts of sunflower oil at tesco

was buy one get one free so got 24 lts for £11

dont buy diesel, only use it to 'top up' rest of time its veg oil straight from the supermarkets, or lidl aldi

my van (toyota hiace d4d) runs perfect, and has done for a long time.

.....just don't get stopped by a Customs and Excise check as you will get hammered for failing to pay fuel duty:augie

I know a few haulage companies who use chip fat in their trucks but they have to pay a levy on it. Still works out cheaper though :thumb

be carefull where you buy your fuel

Just had the injectors on my diesel bmw rebuilt at a cost of £3000 ish there were complications however speaking to the Bosch Delphi trained engineer he said mine had done rather well at 160000 miles and asked what fuel i used i told him mostly bp or shell to which he replied i thought so if you regularly used supermarket fuel we would have seen you at around 80000 miles
now that is on a diesel i don't know whether the same is true for petrol.
now i know that the fuel all comes from the same place but there is a major difference between base diesel and what you get from BP Shell et all because they all put in additives now someone will be along to say i am talking crap in a mo but i speak as i find.:blagblah
oh BTW Esso is usually the cheapest fuel round here.

Not doubting that info but, how would they know ?
It's the dye in Red Diesel that gets spotted, but AFAIK chip oil is colourless ?

because it smells like a chip shop :) it really does

yes your correct, its colourless, and again because of this, it can be detected, its also known as green diesel, as it takes on a greenish tint???? dont know as i dont see it after it goes in.

there is a law allowing 1500lts per year tax free to be used.......

its crazy, as its enviro friendly, and my emissions are nearly zero:confused:

Follow a car running with chip fat or similar because it smells like a chip shop on a busy Friday night:eek:

They had a purge in Merthyr Tydfil a couple of years ago because Mazola was going off the shelves in the Supermarkets as quick as they could stock up. Customs simply followed diesel cars round until they caught most of the culprits :augie

Another load of ill conceived shite. Oil companies make their money producing oil - the money is made before it even gets to the refinery. Whether that oil gets sold through a BP filling station or a supermarket one is immaterial.

I think I'll continue to fill up at the most convenient filling station :thumb2

The only way petrol prices will go down significantly is for the Government to halve the amount of tax it takes - if enough pressure was put on them they might do it. Then the tax burden would simply be shifted elsewhere - guess where?

The fiflthy rich? - no there are not enough of them.
The poor? - err no they don't have any money.

Who else is there? - the large numbers of people with middle incomes, ie. people like us with houses, cars and motorbikes.

Only other thing that can be done is to reduce expenditure - cut services and waste, hmmmm waste sounds good, but how much of is it waste in comparison with total expenditure? Cut services? The only real way to do it - what are the big services? Health, Social Security, Defense, Education.

So they cut services like mad and increase taxes on the middle group - simples :D

Personally I think another area that needs to be cut drastically is road building, they should just look after the ones we already have and forget the big new projects - so what if the travelling becomes a bit inconvenient - the market will find ways around it and perhaps we will then slowly start to develop sensible travel habits.

Hmmm that went a off on a bit of a tangent!! Time to waste some expensive petrol and go for a ride :D

this email is doing the rounds............ :rob I dont know the truth of it but nice people power theory :D

PETROL PRICES - PLEASE READ AND JOIN!!!
Category:
Common Interest - Activities
Description:
The price of oil is as low as it has been for a while, the oil
companies have simply jacked their prices up and the government will
not do anything as they rake in extra VAT for every increase.

See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it

We are hitting 114.9 a litre in some areas now, soon we will be
faced with paying 1.50 a ltr. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea:

This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain
day campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies
just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt
ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to
us than it was a problem for them. BUT,whoever thought of this idea,
has come up with a plan that can really work.

Please read it and join in!

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned
us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take
aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the market place
not sellers. With the price of petrol going up more each day, we
consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the
price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not
purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.
Here's the idea:

For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two
biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP.

If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to
reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies
will have to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach
literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to
do!!

Now, don't wimp out at this point... keep reading and I'll explain
how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to a lot of people. If each of you send it
to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at
least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the
message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached
over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and
pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been
contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it... ..

THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all.
(and not buy at ESSO/BP) How long would all that take? If each of us
sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all
300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next
8days!!! Acting together we can make a difference . If this makes sense
to you, please pass this message on.

PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE 90p a LITRE
RANGE

It's easy to make this happen. Just join this group and get all
your FB friends to join or forward as an email to everyone in your
address book, and buy your petrol at Shell, Asda,Tesco, Sainsburys,
Morrisons Jet etc. i.e.. boycott BP and Esso

I passed an esso this morning and they was queing to get in I guess not everyone got the email:augie

We could always do what the frenchdo block the ferries and burn some sheep:thumb
