Hi all,

My 1150GS suffered from an intermittant petrol leak, which has resulted in a dog-piss coloured stain on the gearbox which I can't polish out. Has anybody else suffered the same problem, and is there any way of removing the stain? (Smartarse answers suggesting new gearbox not welcome!) Photo attached (I hope!)

Cheers, Martin.

I have had the same problem in the past and found it almost impossible to remove however smootherite silver is almost an identical colour match. Just dip a cloth in to the paint and gently rub over the mark. I was suprised. :thumb

I believe the gent by the name of Steptoe used some superduper aircraft cleaner to rid a similar example.

I have the same on mine & had limited success cleaning it off with T cut but the gearbox still has a yellow tinge to it.

:(

Instantly recognisable by the container bearing its chemical name;

L - U - C - 0 -2 - @ - D - E

Should (and probably does) come with it's own Hazchem rating :D but it does work :thumb

I only have a very limited amount of the wonder chemical left -

Apparently, it's no longer legal due to the toxicity :eek: :eek:
