I recently enquired about the PIAA light bar and light kits at PIAA UK.
I've had a reply from Jane Holmyard of PIAA
'Dear Peter
I apologise for any inconvenience caused by the delay in our response to your enquiry but knew we were in the process of sorting kits for your particular bike.
We are now listing kits for your R1200GS, using the 1100X lamp, 510 Lamp and shortly the 910 touring lamp and the 610 HID lamps. The replacement bulbs for your bike are 2 x H7 with 55W draw producing equivalent 110W light, a huge improvement and brighter than any others on the market, they also run cooler than a standard bulb
Below listed are our new specialist BMW centres and I am quite sure they would be happy to advise you or fit them for you.

Mail order only.

Kind regards
Jane Holmyard
PS Hope you are enjoying your bike, I test rode one recently. Monster fun and such an improvement on the old 1150GS'
AND
After me admitting I'd gone and fitted some lights already:
'None at all in fact the more guys who ask for this stuff the more local BMW dealers will come on line and make it easier for everyone to get what they want. I have swapped e-mail with migsel from the forums before when I was trying to sort out brackets for 1150GS for PIAA. Okay I know we now have several mail order people but not everyone wants to attack their own electrical systems and are a whole lot happier to get a dealer to fit them. The lamp kits benefit from two year manufacturers limited warranty which is transferable with the ownership of the bike, unlimited mileage within that two years as long as they have the receipt or proof of purchase to bring it in line with BMW’s 2 year warranty on new bikes. (even the ordinary bulbs get 90 days who else does that?)
The best thing I can see from the new kits coming in now is that there are several choices of lamps for both 1150GS and 1200GS and that the plug and play bracket on the 1200 is specifically to avoid any wiring problems (designed in the states as their warranty requirements are different to EU) though the dealers over here say that using the trigger wire fed directly from the back of the main or dip beam feed off the back of the headlight bulb is perfectly acceptable and does not invalidate any warranty or interfere with the balanced wiring system the bikes use. The switch is then used as a system enabler so that normal activation of the standard main/dip beam switch, once enabled (a coloured led indicator on switch changes colour) fires up the lamps!
Gosh sorry didn’t mean to rabbit but you are welcome to put any or all of this on the forums, saves me a lot of e-mails asking all of that all over again. Cheeky but hey I have got square eyes from sitting at my PC all day instead of riding my bike. (BMWR1150RS took my old 1100RS round the world nearly three years ago with the Nick Sanders group! 32,000 miles in 3 months the pic is me on the way back in Ronda Spain)
Anyway send me a pic of your bike as would like to add it to my gallery, private not public!
Keep the rubber side down and enjoy.
Kind regards Jane J'
Jane sounds like a real adventurer! I feel a bit embarassed by my European jaunts.
I believe that the PIAA stuff is top quality.
