A 2005 model, so has fuel injection. Only had three previous owners and covered 10,500 miles!

They're good Bikes to run. i had 4 of them in my first few years of Riding (2 carb /curvy models & 2 of the FI era). Easy and cheap to run, repair and work on.

Enjoy it Mark, that looks like a LOT of fun.

For anything but touring, that could easily be your go-to bike.

I used to service a friends SV650, the faired version. I would always offer to go to her house and collect it, just so I could ride it back to mine. Brilliant little thing.

I found this quite nice 2003 SV650 S with 22k miles on it in Glasgow about two and a half years ago. Got it for £1450. It's now in the hands of an old friend who'd been off bikes for far too many years.

After we'd fitted it with some RD350 LC bars that he found in his barn on a set of risers and an MRA screen with spoiler, he's quite pleased with it, although he'd still like the footrests lowered a bit, if anyone has any good ideas in the respect. We still need to do the TPS mod to it so that it's a bit more progressive off idle.

The SV was my first touring bike, I sold a NC30 to buy a brand new SV for £3995 from the old motorcycle city, circa 2000, got 2 second hand Givi top boxes stuck them on side of bike as panniers and rode to Nordcap, did 6000 miles, came home sold it and bought a 1100GS. The SV was a great bike, and have looked a couple of times in Autotrader over last couple of weeks as a way of just using a simple bike for my holidays instead of some bloated ADV bike.

Mark that looks a nice bike👍

Spent today adjusting levers and gear shift to my liking and removed both wheels to get new tyres fitted as they were harder than Mike Tyson. Had a good clean around the bits you can’t get at until wheels are out. Got the rear back in and hopefully get the front wheel back from the fitter tomorrow. I also refitted the standard dog bones as it had been lowered. Oil filter on order. Hopefully it will be fully sorted by the end of the week.

So I guess your SV has a top yoke conversion? Do you have the full steering lock without fouling on the fairing?

It's not my bike but yes, it has a top yoke from https://www.topyokes.uk It does have full steering lock without fouling the fairing. That's with the bar risers onto which those old RD350 LC bars are mounted.

The fairing mounted mirrors didn't offer its owner the necessary rearward view, even after he'd fitted spacers, so it now sports bar end mirrors.

How about SW motech adjustable pegs.. fitted a pair to my 310 GS … well made and up/down adjustability.

The link may not be the exact one but you get my thoughts :thumb2

Thanks Bryn. Those could well do the job altough I think my friend might balk at the price.

i have cymark peg lowering kit on my 650 vstrom. would that fit the sv?

It might do. Do you want to sell it or is that just a suggestion that it might work?
