Picos offroad/gravel

Actually, we left the Portsmouth on the 24th. We arrived in Santander and Pamplona on the 26th :D

Sadly, Hotel del Oso was all booked up for the night of the 2nd, before going back. But I am strongly considering doing a 4 wheel trip on some of those roads in that area (and then maybe reaching the deep south)... so I'll be back :)

Looks good. We’re back there again in under two weeks. Can’t wait

Just for info, I'm hearing that the Sotres/Espinama route across the Pico's is now closed to all motorised vehicles, which is a shame as it's probably the most scenic route on the TET in northern Spain.
I'm off there next week so will update but, the TET linesmen have confirmed the closure and are working on an off road diversion, the current diversion is on tarmac to Cangas de Onis, more or less.

I understand it’s closed at one end due to a drone user disturbing the birds.

Double check that, because I rode it two weeks ago, as per post above.
Unless there was some bit I missed, or they closed it after/super recent development, both gates were open.

I believe it was only closed in the last few days, the TET linesmen have confirmed but, I'm waiting for some comments to appear online from riders out there this week.
I'll probably take a ride up there anyway, obviously if it's closed I'll track back.

Ah, ok, so super-recent development.
Hopefully it's just for a few days.

presumably the vultures have chicks this time of year, so it might only last until they fledge in June/July

There are no physical restrictions on the route, officially closed but, nothing actually stopping you riding it. No signs, warnings or anything.
