Collect my 07 GS next Friday. Not the nearest dealer to me but the best I have visited in my quest.

Really friendly and accommodating and a hassle free demo. Thanks to Curtis for being so helpful and giving my a guided tour of the bike and making comparrisons with others in the showroom without pressing me to decide on which one to buy.

Just one question tho, why do they choose to close all day Wednesdays, I didn't think shops closed mid week nowadays ?

Is it Friday yet !! :beerjug:

You obviously got the good salesman instead of the other miserable bastards. The parts guys are good as long as "Happy John" is still at the Triumph shop.

They shut on Wednesdays because Long Eaton's still 50 years behind the rest of the country.

These guys were very helpful to me last year. Firstly when I went to Horizons meet and forgot keys to my panniers...:blast

Secondly at East Midlands meet when bike was running rough they took it into workshop, sorted probs and no charge!

Good dealer! :)

What about Richey Round, I know him from a few years back when we were on the Gilera Network Committee he’s always pleasant and helpful.

Well to me :D

Mr Curtis Clifford gets my vote :beerjug:

Even though he hangs around with KTM Owners :eek: ?

I've know Pidcocks for some years as i started Grass Track Racing when Roy was winding down his exploits.I saw Chris grow into a very handy Speedway Rider till a bad crash downed him.I'd had a lot of Kawasakis from them but had a fancy for a GS going back to the old 100 GS but stuck with the Green Side.I took demos out on a frequent basis but never took the plunge into ownership.
I finally got my GS 12 new in Feb 06 and had a trouble free time with it and traded recently for a Megamoto.I dealt with Phil Morris, but the rest of the Team come across as decent blokes and you NEVER get the "Hard Sell". I cannot compare them with other BMW Dealers as i have never used another, but have had no problems and lots of help from Pidcocks.

I had the clutch slave cylinder go and got recovered to Pidcocks which was handy as my B&B was just 3 miles away at Donington

Bike arrived at 9:15 am straight off flatbed onto the bike ramp "we'll have a 10 min look to see what the problem is" the mechanic chappy said

Next thing oot pops the bike with a new slave cylinder and the boy was polishing my mirrors, I told him not to bother but he said he was getting his boot marks off it:D

Plenty coffee and friendly peeps :thumb

Fantastic service second too none:clap:clap:clap

Richy is a top bloke, always has time to shoot the shit with you. Arranged for a loan bike at lastminute.com when mine went in for first service. Whole heartedly recommend them to anyone. :thumb2

And a thumbs up to Keith and Dave and everyone else in the service department-I've used them for the last 4 years and can't fault them. I had a flat on friday (a big thanks to the chap in the flatbed who stopped on the A50 and took us the 20 miles to Long Eaton!!) and Dave and the rest had us back on the road in an hour, despite having all those EWS units to replace.

Hmm, Pidcocks. I was pretty impressed when I went to put the deposit on me bike, very helpful, not pushy etc.

Collecting it was a whole different experience however. Firstly, I'd half expect that as I was handing over more than £9k cash, no finance deals to arrange, nothing, they'd manage to supply a coffee without sugar. I know it's a small thing but it didn't make me tick that box.

Then there was the service desk, I was taken and introduced to Keith who when asked if the bike would need the EWS swap barely managed to answer "Don't know" before picking up the phone to make an unrelated call. Having waited for him to finish said call, I ask about booking in for first service and am told a date some time end of July? Let me get this straight, I have to run the bike in for 600 miles and then take it back for BMW to finish building the engine (a service for which I actually have to pay for!) and you can't fit me in for over a month?

Dave came to his rescue, thanks very much, answered EWS questions and booked service for following week, I will walk straight past Keith next time I need assistance.

So far, Pidcocks have only taken my money, I've not asked for any help from them and have yet to find if that side of the business is any better. There's lots of good reports on here so maybe I just caught them on a bad day?
