Piggin hell

You've almost got a total loss lubrication system (did BMW sneak a radial aero engine in there?...)
I'd be running something substantially cheaper than fully synth (like boring old mineral 20w50) until the problem has been sorted or the consumption improves. The only reason that they recommend Castrol's most expensive synthetic is because Castrol have paid them handsomely to do so.

Did you ever consider twisting the tiger's tail?

Go on a long tour. Do not check the oil level at any point, or top it up.
Yes, just ride the life out of it. Bounce off the rev counter through the gears,
& thrash up an autobahn.
One of 2 things will happen. Either it will stop using oil completely because you just started riding it properly, or (less likely) it will sieze due to a lack of oil.
Either way, problem cured.

Most sensible comment by far... :thumb2

My 1980 RT started using 1 litre of oil per 1000 miles while I was thrashing it 'round Eastern Europe a few weeks ago... turned out the crankcase breather valve had self destructed... and there was lots of oil on my left shin... But then it is 31 years old, with 74,000 miles on the clock.
