As my Rallye will come with the single Rallye seat, I may get the standard rider seat for longer trips, so will need a pillion blanking plate. Some seem ridiculously expensive, for what is effectively a piece of metal. What options are out there?

It'd be cheaper to just buy a cheap pillion seat off eBay. I'll only use a single rider seat with pillion plate for long trips, so it'll spend half the time on the shelf in my garage.

I have the BMW rear pillion seat plate. Cost £90. Advantage is that I can install the top box on it if need be.

Actually it's all plastic :) I bought one for my GS

I tour with my rallye seat , find it really comfortable , you're not so restricted and can use the whole seat for moving around a bit!

The seat on the Rallye bike looks different to my Rallye seat (if that makes sense) so cant comment on the one you'll get but the seat i have is comfy on long trips. You can shift about on it and adjust position. The Rallye Bike has a seat which is more sculpted, mine is flat.

They do 2 or 3 different height options now. Low, which is the sculpted one in the pictures; normal, like yours, and extra high.

The purchase of a blanking plate depends whether I can get the dealer to chuck in a riders seat. If they won't, I'll try touring with the Rallye seat, and stick my Airhawk in the topbox just in case.
