I'm looking for something that will hold just enough essentials for the daily commute - mini compressor, Puncture kit, spare bulbs, disc lock. Maybe a few bungees and a luggage net in case I make a purchase on the way home.

Anyone seen a small (i.e. low profile) waterproof & lockable box that could be mounted on the pillion seat that would take the stuff mentioned above?

I'm thinking that if it was the size of the pillion seat and about 3" high, it wouldn't get in the way too much.

Any suggestions much appreciated

Give me a ring at the workshop tomorrow and we can have a chat. I might have just the thing for you.

I have a 1400 Pelicase where my pillion seat goes. I fixed the mounting kit that is used for moving the vario topbox to the forward position (around £20 from your local BMW dealer. I bought the case direct from the US. Even with the postaeg it was still cheeper than buying one in the UK.

It's just the job your describing, I carry tools, & light waterproofs. Had it on the bike for about Four years and it goes on and off with the turne of the key. If you'd like more details PM me.

I use a Pelicase 1450 in place of the pillion seat.
Fastens in place using the kit from dealer mentioned by Val.
I'm rather lucky as these boxes come into my posession every now and then through work.
Hopefully a picture of how it looks on the bike will also appear here.
If you need any more info shout up.

Andy.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'm a big fan of the Peli stuff - I have carried a lot of photo gear around in it over the years.

But......

I think it's too "attractive" to be left on the bike when I'm not there. I need something that won't attract too much attention in the 'orrible multi-storey where I park at work.

Vern,

Sorry - left on my own with the kids this weekend so didn't get a chance to read your message until now. Will try you this week.

Thanks all,

Mike
