Pilot Road 4 Trail wear

I've been reading these responses as I'm looking at getting pr4's on my gs LC. I've currently got conti trail attack 2's and have done over 10k miles! They started to square off at about 7k but after a long trip in Eastern Europe and the alps they have rounded off again. I was thinking of getting the pr4s in preparation for another uk winter. Are there any other option for more wet grip with a bit more mileage?

I'm using Conti Trail Attack 2s after a set of Conti TKC-70. The TKC is lighter handling to the point that I thought the the pressures were much too high. I liked them for A roads and lanes but the low speed lightness makes them feel unstable on motorways. The front tread blocks cupped in strange ways but never let me down.
The TA2 is rock steady at speed but still behaves well on slower roads. It's MUCH less noisy and seems to be wearing ok.

I've done a lot of dual and motorway recently which I hate because it tears away at the rear tyre centreline. A better mix of normal roads will scrub the front shoulders but my current usage might allow the front to last for two rears.
