Hi All,

A few years ago I stayed in Cochem, doing daily run outs from their. On one of the run outs I travelled through a newly laid tarmac road through a lovely smelling pine forest area. It was only about a mile or so long with twisty's

When I am in or near Cochem I try to find this road but to no avail! Does anyone have any experience of such a road in this area? I know it's a long shot but you may never Know?

TA Steve

I’d say @Doc might know but all he ever does in Cochem is wake up and smell the roses rosé 😜

Probably on the opposite side of the Mosel to cochem, up on the tops above Bernkastel and nearer Simmern - lots of pine forests up there

As JohnnyBoxer says over the river from Cochem. Plenty of steep twisties through the forests.
Otherwise Arsey is right concerning the Rose. 😆

Sure you haven't had the German equivalent of the Brigadoon Experience ?

We had a similar experience with a village we stayed at in the area in the late 80's when touring , never managed to find it again despite checking Google Map street views for all of the villages in the area with campsites

One of my favourite short stretches of road ever was from Alf (a few miles upstream from Cochem) to Daun, via Bad Bertrich. If you can't find your mythical pine forest, give that a try instead.
