I got myself a new lid to go with the new bike, I made sure to get a Pinlock visor because I have big problems with steaming. The thing works absolutely brilliantly.:JB
There's just one thing that has me a little concerned though, there's a disclaimer on it that says 'For day use only'. What's that all about? No one told me I couldn't use the thing at night.:blast
Anyone know anything about that?

I know nothing, had mine 12 months and use it day and night....not had a problem....:thumb

Coolness. So if I kill myself using it at night I can blame you then. :D

I had problems with Fog City inserts at night where the headlights would "sparkle" but pinlock has been faultless.

Is it plain or tinted?...

They say for day use only as they can "star" oncoming headlights, especially on motorways and in heavy trafffic,
ive had pinlock fitted to both my clear and dark visors for me tourx for about a year now and dont notice the difference anymore, but can be hard to see in heavy rain and lots of traffic,
but wouldnt be without one!

Hey there Jez,
Mine's just a plain visor.

Thanks for all the input you guys. To be honest the night problems would have to be considerable to put me off using the thing now. Just the 70 miles I've already done with it has quadrupled my enjoyment on the bike. I used to fog up so bad in my previous lids that I spent more time opening and closing the visor than I did changing gear! :blast Or I'd just leave it open and squint through tears the whole time.
But I popped the pinlock on this weekend, shut the visor, off I went, and completely forgot I was even wearing a lid. Total godsend I recon.:JB

You wouldn't believe just how much in my biking life has suddenly come good since I decided to get a BMW :bounce1 And I've been riding 25 years. :rob

Have to admit I love my pinlock and wouldn't be without it though like others have said be wary at night in rain as headlights can sparkle/star and make it difficult to see especially on busy motorways !

The first pinlock I got for my S1 was great, until I wiped it with a lint free cloth. Just that quick wipe scratched the buggery out of it. So it sparkled like one of those fancy filters you got for cameras in the 70's.

So the second pinlock I got is only cleaned with baby soap and the fingers of virgins. Well, as close to a virgin as you can find in Woking.

I've found it needs cleaning every couple of weeks as it attracts lots of fine dust. After cleaning I've found the anti-fog to be better if the surfaces are dried with a cool hairdryer - less water marks too. Yes, it's anal, but worth it, I think.

With those cavaets, it's fantastic and I wouldn't have a lid without one. I've certainly had no problems at night (I don't even remember seeing any disclaimer when it came)
