Hi Looking for a bike freindly hotel near Algerceras to stay b4 our trip and on our return and where we can leave a van for our duration in Morocco ,9 days apprrox. regards scroot

Heading into the outskirts of Algecieras from Malaga there a place on the right with a big car park. We stayed there last Nov, but can't remember it's name. It has chalets attatched and I'm sure you could ask there.

Scroot, there is a place just West of San Roque which is 7 miles from the ferry port, I can not remember the name of it but this way point will take you to the door N36 12.485 W5 24.489 it might even be the place Tim is referring to.

We have stayed there for the last two years the night before we cross the water.

It has a fairly large car park too :thumb2

Reina Cristina

The Reina Cristina has been recommended in the past and isn't as expensive as it looks, don't know about parking.

Tim

Have used this place a couple of times. lots of good parking and near the dock. Room for two about 60 euro. Very nice feel to the place.

Winston Churchill stayed here.(a few years back)

Help my girl freand is freaking out on me!!

Hello All, trying to plan!! first trip to Morocco, we are leaveing UK on the 4 th April, leaving Spain on the 6 th to Tangier, howlong a ride is it to Marrakesh, I belive 6hrs??:oonyack, but have looked at the map had a measure made it 650 Ks would u say thats correct any body please and I dont believe you have to book the ferrys? :aidan

Tangiers to Marrakech 400 miles, give or take.....takes us 8-9 hours in the Landcruiser with 3.5 tonne trailer and it normally takes the bikes 6-7 hours (it's anot a great ride TBH and yu'll want to stop)

Allow more time than you think for the ferry from Spain, do an online DT16er (see the knowledge base) and don't forget to do your police immigration form on the boat.

With ref to the Casa Barnado above, yes, it's the Repsol garage hostel...ask for a bungalow (off to the left of the hostel) and it's 24 euros a rom for the night...not bad for two people but make sure you have ear plugs if it's raining.

Get a room around the back (11-20 IIRC) and you're away from eyes and the road......and the garage does beer up 'til midnight.

The restaurant is cracking though......closed on Sundays but try the Chorizo Al Vino :thumb2

I've attached a garmin route fil with the new Madrid ringroad on it and several hostels on the way down that I use regularly...there are many more but these ones either have secure parking or Wifi or some other reason why I use them.

PS the Barnardo's not on there but you'll find it easy enough..it's opposite the oil refinery ;)

PPS If I can't get into a hostal 'cos someone here has booked in first , I'll park on your bike :D
