Does anybody know where I could get a Cee Baileys screen welded. It is a spare screen that came with the bike which unfortunately had suffered damage when the bike toppled off the sidestand. Two pieces have broken off around the left hand mounting area. I have taken it to two places in Birmingham but they are unable to carry out the repair. The first place tried but his welding iron at 300deg C had no effect. :nenau He said this is due to the high quality of the perspex which according to the Cee Baileys label on it is Aircraft Spec.

So if any of you guys work on high spec plastics and could possibly fix it or if you know a man who can then please let me know.

Did a similar thing to mine. Used superglue gel. Was still fine when I took it off coupla thousand miles later.

In fact, took Royal Mail to break it again. Surprise.

Was it any particular brand or make and where did you get it from?

Have a word with your friendly dentist. They use an excellent cyanoacrylate glue that sticks ooooodles of stuff very well, and they may have a bit to spare / sell.

Ask your local gliding club. The have "aircraft spec" canopies and break them quite often. IIRC you can make up the glue from Chloroform and perspex chippings, lot easier to buy some. Then you'll need a micromesh kit to polish it till you can't see the join. It is possible, I've done it, but don't ask me now.

BTW there used to be someone called the canopy doctor, think he's retired by now though. :(
