Does anybody know of someone who can "do" plastic welding in the Greater Manchester area ? I've tried the Super Glue and BiCarb Trick (did'nt work) . It's to repair a BMW top box and Hepco Becker Plastic ? Panniers . Thanks in anticipation , Glenn

Sounds Familiar !
I had a similar problem and in the absence of a plastic welder
in these parts , i used a soldering iron and in a "Stitched fashion"
melted it all back together ,,,, and to my amazement its held !

Ohhhhhh i am sooooooo wonderful , i even amaze myself :bow

I have two contacts for Plastic Welding.

One is in Burcough near Southport and the other is in Birkenhead.

Feel free to PM me to discuss it :thumb

plastic welding

Ive rebuilt a few bits using the soldering iron technique.

The trick is to get the iron hot and use a big fat tip...

Then, find some plastic that is the same type as the piece your repairing (this is crucial).

Cut the spare plastic in to strips (a bit like the sticks if your arc welding)

stick the iron right through and fill the gaps with melted plastic off your sticks.... afterwards, it looks messy but can be filled and sanded and sprayed...

Hope this helps.
