Please help, hi reving r1150gs

I've ordered a set of "O" rings anyway for the Throttle Bodies as I know they are probably not sitting right as they have stretched.

What or where is the "throttle body airway bypass tubes "? my biggest problem is identifying the names of the components :)

If you look inside the throttle body you will see a pair of holes, about 5mm in diameter, near the end of the air bypass adjuster screw and either side of the butterfly valve.

It it simply a tube in the casting which connects the air intake to the engine at idle speed. By setting the adjuster screw correctly the air that passes through that tube controls most of the air/fuel ratio supplied to the engine. There is also a small gap around the circumference of the butterfly valve and the throttle bore which works with the adjuster screw.

Over the next few weeks when I get time going to take the TB's off and clean and check them over, rewire the TPS earth as this looks corroded and check TPS voltage.
So I'll either fix it of kill it :)

Check ...

... that some low-life hasn't stolen the bleed caps from under the throttle bodies; don't know if it'd cause it to run fast, but it wouldn't help :augie

LOL actually I purchased a new pair in case they were perished :)

Well I udjusted the TPS but adjusted the butterfly instead of the TPS until vaultage was correct, (I know I shouldn't adjust the end stop but desperate times and no funds to put it in the garage). rebalanced so I'm now down just below 1,400 rpm.
Which is nice that it's not racing after my hour and half commute, just have to remember start and ride off as the fast idle dose nothing.

Gary you are creating a whole world of pain for yourself why not ride to steptoes and let him sort the problem once and for all! Just check the picture link out

Seriously you are going around and around changing stuff that may not need changed and for the sake of an hours ride??? and maybe an hour of steppers time BUT Please Phone first just don;t arrive and expect him to drop everything. Link

Hi Jaythro, I understand what your saying and yes, when I get chance I plan to take it to someone (ideally Steptoe), in the mean time, as the bike is still ride able, I'm using this "Tinkering" time to learn my self how it all works and how to adjust enough to make the best of a bad setup (from me)

Use the bike every day and it's difficult to get the chance to take a day off to get it to someone - but I intened to do that, and yes wouldn't dream of just turning up and expect them to look at it without forward notice.
