Hi
I've got a 2005 F650GS with the BMW Aluminium expandable panniers. I would like to get a top box as well. There is no top box plate at the moment. What would you recommend? There seem to be loads of luggage choices for the 1200GS but I can't find much for my bike.

Help!

Thanks
Linda

BMW do a top box for the 650 which comes with its own dedicated mounting plate, holds a full face helmet and can be key coded to your ignition key if required.

They appear now and then here and on Ebay.

What exactly were you thinking of using it for? Not as stupid a question as it sounds honest!

Here is why: We will do some touring next year. From this year's experience I've got a good idea, how much luggage I need. If I put a top box on, I can strap another bag on top of the panniers each side and fix them to the top box. And there is still space on the pillion seat for a tailpack.

If you get a BMW top box you wont need a mounting plate, as the twinspark is designed for the box to go straight on it.

However, I agree with bob, Givi is good suff!

I guess you take a lot more shoes than I do.

But seriously, I've got a BMW top box which I didn't really expect to use if I'm honest but it gets used a lot.
I managed a week away recently, no camping, using just a topbox and a tankbag.
