Hi all,

I wonder if one of you would be kind enough to send me a couple of photo's of your installed BMW crash bars?

I have a set to fit (second hand xmas pressie) but no instructions, it looks simple enough and I have the torque settings but there is a couple of fittings, u shaped brackets etc. that I can't quite figure out and it would help massively if I could see what they should look like when fitted at the connecting points!

I appreciate any and all help!

Cheers everyone

Whoops, sorry

Bike is: R1200GS 2006

Crash bars are official BMW

Thanks for any assistance!

BMW Crash bar fitting looks wrong?

Hi,

Thank you TJW that was well helpful!

Please can some one offer some advice on the fitment:

Now I've fitted the bars they don't look correct and I can't believe BMW would design it to look like this?

There is a smaller gap on the left hand side and the bar touches the black plastic head cover compared to the right hand side where the crash bar is well away from the cylinder and not touching the plastic head cover?

I can put only two fingers between the top of the crash bar and the cylinder on the left but four fingers in the same gap on the right?

The bars don't appear to be bent or anything and I can't find any other way of fitting them?

Would appreciate any wise words as to if this fitting is correct or not because I'm about to junk them!

Cheers Guy's!

The cylinders on the engine are offset if you look from above, perhaps that's where the difference is?

Off set Bars make sense?

Hi,
Yeah I know the cylinders are off set but you'd think BMW would take this into account as the bars look rediculous with different gaps which are so visable?

bars

Sound like mine now look, after a couple of prangs!.
