Dealers in my part of the world seem to use the "I do not want the risk of being sued" excuse to sell you a new tire. Tire presure is something that we should all do more often, does that mean that we are creating our own demise for an acident if we do not bother with checking tire presure? I have heard of dealers mounting tires in the wrong directional flow so how can they not be worried about liability if carelessnes can create a catastrophy.
Lets say that you are ridding on brand new tires at highway speeds and you get a puncture. Will that create any more or less danger than if you ride on a tire that looses presure slowly without you noticing? Is a repaired tire more apt to explode? Perhaps the repaired tire will be more reason for you to suspect low presure and make you check more often.
Tires are your life and we do not want to take any more chances than we have to but proper preventative care will always go a long way. The bottom line is that if you are going to be worried about anything enough, you should do something about it.
