Pocket Bead Breaker

Garry Exelent work, simple, elegant, you carry just what you need mentality...

i Think you need to consider making some for production, even if the mecanical concept is old as dirt (old carpenter clamp) the aplication is very avangarde

thanks for sharing...

so far my favorite method is the kickstand, but i admite it can get out of hand in no time specially if you take one of the wheel of the bike already..

I wanted to test it on the change from the South American tubes to TCK tubeless (ahhh thats better :thumb ) but ran out of time before Kelso. To be honest I was a bit lost on technique too, must have a chat re : use, maybe I'm a bit slooowwww
Don't really want to take them off again for sake of it ;)
(lovely though all the same :clap )

Mine arrived today - really well made and just the sort of thing I need :thumb

Looking forward (I think ;) ) to using it in anger!

Cheers
Andres

Happy customer

Garry

Your apparatus arrived safely, looks very well made, have not used it yet; hopefully - like a waterproof oversuit - it will see minimal use, thanks :thumb

PS I'm not expecting it to keep me dry.

Arrived Saturday Garry, what can i say apart from WOW! very very well made bit of kit should be qwik and easy to use if needed, but lets hope it says in its pack with the plugger. :beerjug: Lyn.

I just found that thread... really cool device!
do you still have one? and how much is it to ship it to this side of the pond?
thanks!

If you have one left then I'd love to buy one - you know the size of the stuff available here - HUGE.
My work addy is [email protected] - I'm new and don't understand site fully, so no idea how to ping you direct. Best regards, RexT.

Just a quick post to say what a great bit of kit the bead-breaker is. :thumb

Used it in anger last night and got the rear tyre bead broken in no time.
Managed to then change the tyre with generally the two small BM tool kit levers and a bit of lubrication via Vaseline (steady:rolleyes: )

Bugger all chance of getting the replacement (tubeless) tyre seated though.

Garry, this is a great bit of kit….I’m awaiting the pocket super compressor to seat the tubeless bead now :D

As an aside, with a tube fitted is it possible to seat a tubeless tyre on the BM tubeless rim without a compressor?

is already available here.... http://bestrestproducts.com/celestia/products/cyclepump/
tested in W Sahara- just remember not to leave it on the ground as it can suck in junk- and let it cool if it gets too warm- else brilliant bit of kit:thumb

Handy (have simple cheap version - I'm tight :D ) but will it seat a tyre onto a tubeless rim? I'm guessing with a tube in a tubeless tyre you may get the bead seated...but not sure even with a tube it's possible without a compressor (big b*gger) as never managed myself. Has anyone ???

I have had a few people ask if i am making anymore...
If there are a enough of you that want one i will make another batch....
PM me if you are interested
Garry
