I have tried to polish the chrome headers of my exhaust, but can`t shift the stains with either Blue Job chrome paste or AutoGlym chrome cleaner, anyone got any ideas how I can get them clean please.

If it's blue, I think that's what happens to chrome and it's probably better than the dull brown that the un-chromed stainless goes.

All of these "blue aways" consist of abrasives that when used often, will thin your chrome. Delaying the inevitable is all you are doing....That is why the Japanese opted for double wall pipes........

I like the blue. Sort of adds character. :D
Try getting some copper wire and wrapping it around the headers tight at barell end, worked on triumphs as a heat sink :D

The blueing of the headers closest to cylinders is considered part of the BMW aesthetic by most - even that it is indicative of riding hard and fast.
This is why the excretion brown headers of the SSteel is offensive to many.
Not sure what BMW was thinking... must be cost or enviro issues as they seem to have perfected the difficult process of chroming SSteel. Anyway the best I have discovered for polishing the chrome headers (and will take the blue off if added to elbow grease :) is Autosol meal polish. A dremel polishing attachment can be useful if really tarnished.

I like the "excretion brown" header pipes on mine - matches the dirt on the rest of the bike :D

Yeah you are entitled to your opinion ... as they say in the classics ... 'opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one!'

'course it could be because they're not chrome. :jibber

Polished stainless. And no matter what you do, short of having them ceramic coated, they will blue again.

Quit polishing and go riding instead!
