Great Jim, 9am is fine, I didn't realise it was 90 miles and it's not the weather for trapping on. I'll see you down in the village decked out in about 5 layers of thermals;)

Not sure if PhilM can get his bike going but feel free to join us if you are.

have fun
Andy

Up and running, see you guys in Banchory:thumb

Looks like a late change of plans for me tomorrow, so have a good run out guys and see you next time. Am I jealous or what?

Are these the first pics of the day?

Got 6 miles down the road and all went quiet. Now in deep discussions with the 'Technical section' gurus.

Grand Day Oot

Just home after covering a shade over 220 miles.

Incredibly, 20 bikes turned up. There would have been twenty two but the 2 x Gordons called off with physical and mechanical breakdowns.

If I'd thought for a mo' that so many guys would make the effort, I would have phoned and booked lunch at the Spittal Of Glenshee Hotel. That way, I would have discovered that it was shut for a fortnight! :o :o

No harm done, Stumpy and Andy Cam rode ahead in true Injun Scout fashion and jacked up a very nice lunch at Gordon's (no kidding) Tearoom in Braemar. I'll bet that's the best Saturday lunchtime that his till has seen for a wee while.

The initial ride up to Blair Atholl was fairly wet north of Dunkeld and it didn't stop raining until after we'd had coffee and headed over Moulin Moor to the Spittal of Glenshee. Glenshee itself was a wee bit cold and icy but it warmed up slightly when we dropped down into Braemar. Good company and craic among a few weel kent and a few new faces.

The "northern" lads then headed north to Aberdeen/Inverness and Morayshire while the "southerners" headed back down the B925 road into Blairgowrie and then home from there.

That was my first ride on the bike for about 2 months and it did me the world of good. I'll post a couple of pics later.

Thanks to all the guys who turned up. :clap :thumb

Ronno

P.S. Next week, I'm going to organise a piss up in a Brewery :D

aye we made sure a' the weather stayed in skye, lol.
Great day great company (almost - no Onyack).
Shame about the shower of rain  , Ronnie forgot the toby key :D
Great food stop.
Great run hame.
Sorry about your problem Gordon - better now than Africa.

himsel.

Heloo chaps.
Typing with one hand because my left hand has fallen off. Left hand heated grip decided not to work today.
Good thing was that my arse is fully cooked. Just thought I would make Arcboutant jealous.
Great wee ride out ...except for the bit between Dunkeld and Blair. Rained a bit on that section.
Stunning scenery with snow capped mountains and empty roads.
More bikes came out on this run than normally appear in the height of summer. strange masochistic folk.
Lentil soup and mince and tatties helped heat up the inner man in preperation for the road back over the mountains, all finished off with a three figure speed blast down the M90.
Rev Chuck ... are you allowed to break the law like that ?

A Grand day out indeed !

Not many good photies, but Im sure more will appear.

RONNO

Well done for organising a great run. Bet you never thought all those bikes would turn up for an organised run to a hotel thats closed, just imagine how many would go if it's open;) :beerjug: :beerjug:

note to self-if you charge the camera battery remember the camera:nenau

Great to see you all again, reminded me of just how long it's been since mingling with you. It was great to see some old faces (older even than mine) Den, Rev Chuck (that was a wave you gave me in the car park as you left??) and so many others. We Northerners had a steady run back on much improved roads saying Adieu in Conval St Dufftown.
Once again thanks everyone for turning up
 :beerjug:

Thanks for taking the time to organise the outing today :clap it was grand to meet up with so many folk off the site. With my hand muffs and DIY heated jacket even the snow when running over Glenshee and the rain after that failed to spoil my day out.
