This is my firts post since introducing myself on the newbies thread.

I have put a deposit down on a '04 dark blue 1200GS which I will be picking up on Saturday. :D :thumb
Unfortunately the battery was flat , but test rode an '07 demo. what a blast and too easy to go illegal speeds, very agile and has great road presence. :augie
The turn signals will take a bit of getting used to, but I like them.
Much more effortless to ride than my current ZZR-600, and does not seem as quick until you look at the clocks:nono :nono :nono

does anyone have advice on the screen, I am 5'10, when I sta upright there was a huge amount of wind noise at speed, if i just hunched down a couple of inches it was like I was riding in a vacuum with no wind noise at all. I tried the lower seat as well, but gave the same results.

Looking forward to many happy years.

Welcome, and congrats on your purchase :thumb2
Did you adjust the screen much? It takes a bit of faffing about to get it in the right position, but a lot of folk find it's not much use on it's own. Do a search on here, you can spend hours and hundreds of pounds trying to find the right setup unfortunately. I found the standard screen at the highest position quiet but buffeting, and 2 down from top was calm but ridiculously loud.

I personally have the standard screen in highest position, with a touratech screen spoiler and some winglets from nippy normans. I'm 5'11", and it's bang on perfect for me, if a little too perfect (I can have my visor open at 120 quite easily  )

Anyway, enjoy it, you'll get used to the turn signals fast after you've hooted and scared a few innocent elderly ladies by accident :D

WELCOME.
it's only money.
enjoy your new toy when it arrives.:thumb
ps,re the noise,'THEY ALL DO THAT SIR'
keep to the speed limits and no noise. :D ;)

Pick it up on tuesday, comes with 12 month BMW warranty, tax and test for 12 months.:beerjug:

Enjoy it, get it dirty, buy some custom made earplugs and worry about (think about) all the other stuff later!
