My workmate has spent ages looking forward to collecting his new GSA, the day arrived last Wednesday and he called in at work on the way home. A few of the engineers went out for a look and after a few "wow, its massive" statements somebody noticed the open end of the upper crash bars, now this workmate of mine spends two days or so finishing every project by fitting end caps, plugs and closures to our pipes and supports, so it was the first thing everybody noticed, followed by "£16000+ and look, all the other bungs are missing."
Nothing we could say really. A typical plug for this size of tube is less than 5p.

I don't think much of "engineers" who can only come up with the notion that BMW didn't fit end caps to save a few cents.

If your mate is bothered I expect even after spending 16k+ he can still afford a couple of pounds to fit bungs. If he waits a while I am sure some enterprising company will oblige with some specially designed - take you around the world - end caps although I suspect they might then cost more than 5p each!

And keep all the water in there and rot out even faster.

Sent using witchcraft

So BMW fit them to the F800 series bikes to rot the frames??????
Anybody fitting the accessory manufacturers plugs is going to cause long term structural damage???

Here you go :thumb2

For the GSA you need:-
2 @ 22mm
5 @ 25mm
2 @ 38mm

The 2 22mm ones are for the pannier frames. You will need to trim off a little from 2 of the 25mm ones for the engine bars, the 22mm ones are too small for there. The remaining 3 25mm ones and 38mm ones will fit the remaining holes :thumb2

Total cost including P&P VAT etc was around £22 if I recall

If yer mate spends two whole days fitting end caps, thats a lot of end caps. Ask him to lose a couple and find them again when he gets home.

Not 2 days just fitting end caps, but attending to the small details which make a big difference to a customers impression.
Pride in the job it used to be called, its what you expect from professional engineers on a £1,000,000+ installation.

Those are well priced, good find.:thumb Makes you wonder how some companies get away with charging £80+ for a set of plugs.

Typical engineers spending millions and the end result still needs fixing.............
