Wanted Porsche

With its mid engine layout, the 981 is an awesome drive. I have a 2014 Cayman. For me a hard top is more practical for my daily drive needs. Likewise the PDK transmission. Whilst a manual will give you a purer driving experience, the PDK provides slick instant gear changes. I never yearn for a manual. Although a potential PDK owner needs to be aware of the hugely expensive 12 year PDK service - unless they do all their own spannering. Although at 5’10 I’m not as tall as you, I find the cabin space very roomy. Mine is fairly low specced, but moving from a modern car, I really love the more analogue drive with all the driver aids that take away the pure driving experience. Mine’s a keeper.

I'm hunting for a Porsche Boxster/981 as my first Porsche, so I'm not looking to splash out a huge amount…..a really solid, well-sorted example.

Unfortunately, you have chosen a variant (model run) that is in a lot of other people’s target area….. demand (probably) exceeds supply…. And you know what that means.

A 911 the ultimate Porsche IMO, but second to that I would love a 928, yeah! many didn't think much about a front engine car, but I do, and still love the look of them.
A modestly clean one needing some TLC bought at a favourable cost, once sorted can fetch a good market resale price.
I’ve got a 944 S2 with 24000 miles from new I’m thinking of selling this year . Not to be confused with high milage rust buckets . It’ll be 30k but what a car !
Stunningly original , and good for another 200 k miles .

as HxH said above 911 is the ultimate porsche and are gret fun but you do pay alot or Porsche Tax to run them, when i get round to selling mine i will look for a cayman for 1/2 of the money and spend the rest on holidays!!

Or repairs!
I really want a Cayman but have seen some horrific maintenance costs.
