Portsoy 10 to 12 September 2021

I don't mind sleeping in the tent in any weather.
It's at night when your say having a beer and chat.

Some sites have a covered area to sit under.

I meant you might get to shelter in the hostel if required if it's only GS's in there

For those that know the site, is there somewhere to shelter if the weather is on the wet side?

In other words do I need a bigger tent lol

There’s no cover or sheltered area on the campsite unfortunately
The bunkhouse sits on its own about 200m away from the campsite and will be full of tossers so thats probably your best bet if the weather’s pants

Are you staying at or near the Anglers Arms?
Just asking because I spotted this last year but it was closed.

Yes - the Anglers is at the entrance to the camp site.
I have used the site and their camping pods before.
It’s all open again now.
It’s a great place imho. Dark skies and quiet.
At £40 with leccy and heating it’s not worth putting your tent up for a one nighter.

A quick Bob’s yer uncle around Edinburgher the next morning and onto the whisky roads to chez links.

Stopped there loads of times on the way back down. Never been fortunate enough to stay on a clear night though. That site has the best campsite shower ever.

It'll be busy! Things are pretty much back to normal around here. Drop us a PM for any local info.

I've not planned my return journey but this one is looking good for an overnight stop, especially if the skies are clear.

The Shore Inn have said that they are opening again after a long covid shutdown. That is good news, it's a short stroll along the seafront from the campsite and sells fine ale :beerjug:

Bring it if it is part of your skincare regime but very few midges on the east coast
