Positioning of tax disc holder

Nope, but you have those silly stick on insurance things instead.

OK, I wasn't expecting to contribute to the thread but in the spirit of going for 1000 posts by christmas and adding some new content for tossers to bitch about here goes...

In Switzerland we have "Autobahn Vignettes" which allow you to use the motorways for a year - you pay your CHF 40 and get a square sticker that is meant to be displayed like the UK tax disk

There are a couple of interesting things about the sticker that could be usefully applied to the UK tax disk

1. It's a sticker! - you don't need a friggin' holder at all
2. it's double sided - designed to be stuck on the inside of a car windscreen or on an outside surface of a bike. People stick them under the seat, on the beak, fork, bars, screen, frame, anywhere
3. it's perforated - shredded would be a better word so that although it's easy to remove it will disintegrate in the process - so not nickable

you all overlooked.....

.....the obvious, and most important aspect of this thread, which is,does anybody use anything other than a M6 bolt to mount their tax disc holder?

Thank you but there is nothing interesting from a country whose only two contributions to western civilisation have been a triangular chocolate and nut confection coupled with a family called Robinson.

Good day to you, sir.

OK I've read a glut of stuff about where to fit the VEL on the bike but like many I keep mine in my wallet, but what I'm unsure of is where is the best place in my wallet to keep it and is there a right or wrong type of wallet to keep it in :neneau

Ask a Scotsman.

Ah, the Swiss - always misunderstood. The family was never called Robinson, and the chocolate is owned by the americans

It's all cows and gnomes over here - oh and of course, some of the best biking roads in Europe packed into a tiny country. 5 am. warm summer morning, strike out for a couple of hours hard riding in the alps and back in time for work without a single thought of western civilization or chocolate

:bounce1

its all well and good to brazenly state that "its on a 8 or 10" but this is the kind of thing that causes confusion within the wider biking community, could you pop out to the garage/shed and clarify the situation? thanks:thumb2

Ahhh .... so thats the reason none of them EVER come up for sale on this forum !!

Now there's an idea - maybe I should by a few, stick them in envelopes with the BMW or TT logo, flog them as the "ideal Xmas gift for tossers"

Only 80 quid a pop and enviromentally friendly because you don't have to drive to Switzerland to get one and you can re-use the envelope to keep your tax disk in your sporran

Picked my GSTB up on Saturday and i noticed the holder was fitted to the LH Rocker cover
Where do you place yours ?

Hold on, i'll nip out to the garage in the morning and take a pic of me Tax Disk location.....Not a problem fella..
