Very regularly now my 150GSA does not start when the button is depressed I get a 'thud' but after several attempts it springs into life no probs.

I have an odyssey battery installed that is fully charged by an optimate III overnight and between rides, SLBMW checked the battery stated no problem on the last service 4000 miles ago.

Someone at work said their new F800GS had this problem and it turned out to be the fuel pump, I have tried to start and then looked to see if there is fuel on the spark plugs, all looks ok but not sure if it was torch refection shining off the plug, I am thinking of doing a spark test next.

Does anyone have any suggestions please.

Fuel pump

East to sort when the ignition is switched on does the fuel pump start running? if it does, not the pump but starter motor.
